Iva Sue Smith

Funeral service for Iva Sue Smith, age 90, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Tony Gaskin officiating. Burial will follow in the Flintville Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until 12 PM on Saturday at Higgins.

Sue was born on October 10, 1932, in Gurdon, AR, to the late Hubert and Elsie Ruth Harris Covington. She enjoyed reading, sewing, tending to her flowers, and bird watching. Mrs. Smith was an avid UT fan (Go Big Orange!) and volunteered at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Museum. Sue was a member of the Kelso Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She passed away on March 8, 2023, at her residence.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Honey Harrison; daughter-in-law, Connie Honey; grandchildren, Brad Harrison, Jonathan (Macie) Honey, and Robbie Honey; great-grandchildren, Hunter Harrison, Winston Honey, and Grayson Honey; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Toby. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Eugene “Bob” Honey; second husband, John L. Smith, Jr.; son, David Honey; and siblings, Catherine Smith, Jack Covington, and John Covington.

How we all loved Aunt Sue! She was so sweet and fun. I have fond memories of her time in Arkansas visiting Mamaw and our family. She will be greatly missed. Love to you all.

Granny Sue was a truly beautiful, giving person. Over the years, she was a blessing to my son,(her grandson) Robbie Honey. Her continued, loving support made her the definition of Grandmother. She will be sorely missed. The world was better place for her presence. 💔

Sue was such a nice and caring person. I always enjoyed working with her in the school system. She helped me in so many ways. She will be missed. Hugs to you Linda and Connie.
