Ida Bell Alverson Pigg

Funeral services for Ida Bell Alverson Pigg, age 81 of Flintville, will be conducted Wednesday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro Johnny Fisher and Bro. Bobby Pepper officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery beside her first husband John Alverson. Mrs. Pigg passed away Monday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.

A native of Madison County, AL she was the daughter of the late Leamer and Bessie Echols Boyett and was a member of the Flintville Church of Christ. Mrs. Pigg was a former employee of Huntsville and Lee Manufacturing.

Survivors include two sons Harold Alverson and wife Kaye of Fayetteville, Steve Alverson and wife Gwen of Toney, AL, step-son Lamar Pigg and wife Betty of Flintville six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five sisters, Marie Carroll of NC, Hilda Metcalf and husband Hoover of Lynchburg, Linda Harris of Flintville, Fay Jackson and husband Harold of Bellvidere and Barbara Johnson and husband Steve of Shelbyville. Mrs. Pigg was preceded in death by son Roy Alverson, brothers Bobby and Floyd Boyett, sisters Doris Gearlds, Opal Sanders, Mary Emma Boyett.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from noon until time of services at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
