I hadn’t known Mr. Warren until about six-moths before we lost him. In that very small amount of time, what I learned about him was amazing. Now, if he were here, he’d tell me to hush (in his own way, of course) and naturally I’d hush. Now, I can get away with telling y’all what I think. First and foremost, I believe Mr. Warren was a god-fearing, family man. Now I know he and David had their ups and downs, just like all father’s and son’s.
I know Mr. Warren was a fine Carpenter, for I have seen a number of examples of his work, and it is head and shoulders above others, I have seen.
When it comes right down to it; all one can know about another person, is how did they treat you? I have to say, without exception, he befriended me, simply because I was Dave’s friend. No questions asked.
He was a Gentleman, simple as that. The county has lost an excellent man! But, you know, I feel so much better for having known him.
I am going to miss you, Mr. Warren. God speed, and go live with our Lord!

Sadden by the loss of my first cousin, HD. Not only was he my cousin but he was a friend. I am reminded of Job in the Bible when I think of HD. He endured a lot of heartaches and tragedy during his life but a person could always count on him having that contagious laugh and I honestly never heard him complain about anything. He was respectful and was always checking on people to make sure they were okay. He dearly loved his family and I’ve never seen anyone that loved the Great Smoky Mountains more than he did. He will be sorely missed. Our prayers are with the family.
