Horace Melvin Walker

Funeral service for Horace Melvin Walker, age 85 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday at 3 PM at the Prospect Baptist Church with Dr. Ronnie Gay officiating. Burial will follow in Stewarts Cemetery. Mr. Walker passed away Thursday in Huntsville Hospital.

A native of Lincoln County, Mr. Walker was the son of the late Horace David and Suzie Fanning Walker and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during WW II. He was a retired Missile Engineer with Redstone Arsenal and a member of the Prospect Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Mary Richardson Walker of Fayetteville, son Dan Walker of Hermitage,TN daughter Tammye Davis Hutton of TX, grandchildren Jessicah Torpey and Sarah Locker, great-granddaughter Josie Torpey, brother Gordon Walker and sister Joyce Monks both of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by a sister Maureen Tucker.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 1-3 PM at the Prospect Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Prospect Building Fund.
