[“Death ends a life, not a relationship.” -Mitch Albom.]
A day or so ago I lost a friend and a mentor as well as a step father. Even though he came into my life when I was 13, he always treated us as if we were his own.( We had some of the best Christmas presents when he was around. )
[His life was gentle; and the elements So mixed in him, that Nature might stand up And say to all the world, THIS WAS A MAN! (William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar)]
I don’t think Wayne knew a stranger: he always talked to someone no matter where he went.
Shannon L. Alder once said, “Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.”
And he will always be carved on my heart for sure.
As Shakespeare once penned, “My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar, And I must pause till it come back to me”.
His stories, his humor & wit- ESPECIALLY his laugh will always live on ……
[ In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! we are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory.
-J.R.R. Tolkien ]
…… I trust that it will inside all who knew him.

The last time I saw you, you knew it would be the last time, as did I. I didn’t want to believe it, but I knew it to be true. Life will never be the same now, and that’s ok because we will all have that glorious reunion in heaven one day! I loved you like the brother I never had, and I thank you for that. I’m also thankful for the past 3 short years we shared. There will never be another one like you because God broke that mold he used to make you.
I’m happy that you’re at peace now, no more suffering, no more stress, no more heartache. Save me a seat in that red convertible we talked about so many times.
I know you were happy to see your Mother and Sister. You earned your wings, so fly high Wayne, fly high.
