Graveside services for Henry Marvin Monks, age 88, of Fayetteville will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Higgins Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Monks passed away Friday afternoon in Lincoln Skill Care Center.
He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Monks, was in retail sales and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law Sue Phillips Monks of Midlothian, VA, brothers Wilson Monks of Fayetteville and Wayne Monks of Jackson, TN, sister Amelia Haithcoat of California, three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home prior to services.

I remember a story that my mother and father has told me for years. When my mother was ready to deliver me in 1953, Marvin drove the ambulance that got her to the hospital in the nick of time. My prayers are with you, the family in this time.
