Funeral services for Mrs. Grovene Dyer Tucker, age 81, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 10AM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Kirk Smith officiating. Burial will be follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband Ernest Tucker who passed away April 19, 2010. Mrs. Tucker passed away Monday night at Lincoln Medical Center.
She was a native of Franklin County, TN and the daughter of the late Richard M and Elon Parks Dyer. Mrs. Tucker was a former Huntsville Times Reporter, and was a Red Cross volunteer for 30 years. She served as treasurer at Christian Fellowship Church for 13 years before returning to Brogan Avenue Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
Survivors include three sons, Ricky (Judy) Tucker of Fayetteville, Billy (Debbie) Tucker of Winchester and Jeff (Carol) Tucker of Flintville, grandchildren Kelli (David) Campbell of Brentwood, TN, Matthew Tucker of Madison, AL, Greg Gipson of Winchester, Kelly (Chastity) Gipson of Winchester, Shawn (Terina) Weir of Flintville and Ed (Lori) Brusher of Virginia, five great grandchildren, sisters Rhoda Mae Moore of Chicago, Jean (Lewis) Collins of Chicago, Dixie Meeks of Pelham, TN, Shirley (Jim) Noles of Chicago, Erlene Buckner of Hillsboro and special niece Marilyn Tate of Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by a sister Lillian Tate.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
