Memorial services for Gregory Lee Wallace, age 61 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Friday evening at 7 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Don Wallace officiating. Mr. Wallace passed away at his residence on Sunday May 27th.
A native of Akron, Ohio and long time resident of Lincoln County, Mr. Wallace was the son of the late Howard Sherrell and Vivian Parks Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the 82nd Airborne, was employed by Motlow College and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons Jason Wallace (Anna Rose) of Fayetteville, Eric Wallace of Fayetteville and daughter Natalie Wallace of Cookeville, two brothers Doug Wallace (Valerie) of Acworth, GA and Jeff Wallace of Fayetteville, uncle and aunt Donald and Martha Lou Wallace of Fayetteville, uncle and aunt Aileen and Kenneth Wallace of Roseburg, OR and numerous grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Friday from 4-7 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I remember Mr. Wallace and how he cared for his parents before their death. Your family is on my heart and in my prayers.

greg was a true friend. he deeply loved his family and if you was his friend, you were family. I will miss his humor and talking music and tennessee football. Greg will always be with me in my heart and my mind.i love you old friend and fellow verteran.

When I think of Greg, I have to smile, he was always such a nice man, He made jokes all the time, but then he could be really serious in the same moment. He was always good to me and my girls, not to mention his ex-in-laws, Homer and Jean Knox, he would do anything for any of us , all we had to do was ask.
He was such a great Father and friend to his son Jason. I know how proud he was of him because, he told me on numerous occassions. I can’t imagine him not being here any longer, but his memory will always be here.

Thoughts go out to the family.. Mr. Wallace always took time out to talk to me and was such a kind spirit. He took me under his wing a bit when my Dad was deployed to AF, and always lent a good ear. He will be missed. ~

Greg will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him and came into contact with him. He was the friendliest face at Motlow with a kind heart. My heart breaks for his family and I pray for your strength to get through this loss. God bless you all and know that God will comfort you.

Greg was part of the glue that held us together at Motlow, on our breaks or in between classes, when we were stressed to the max he always made us smile.
He will be deeply missed but NEVER forgotten.

I cannot believe he is gone! Just last week was I talking with him. Even though his death is very sad I try to thiink of all the joy his life has brought to many!! My yo friend and him talked every day at motlow .. That was his buddy!! I remember Greg comming to my ball games, trick or treating at his house, and him talking about how ,inch he loved his children and was proud of them!! I wish I cold give him a hug and listen to him give wise but practical advice just one last time. I just find solace that he brought joy into everyone’s life !!

So sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. He and I were friends since high school. I would run into him often and we would always laugh and remember a funny story to tell on ourselves or someone we knew! I will miss his always smiling face. I am here if you need me!

JW–my heart broke when I heard the news. The O.G. (as we use to call him) will always be special to me. The ’93 Falcon State Championsip will forever be etched. Man, I hurt when I heard the news. I did not learn until much later of Greg’s death. He was cheerful guy and very easy with whom to get along. He was also very outgoing and personable. I have enjoyed representing various members of the Wallace family through the years and in a professinal capacity; yet, I also regarded Greg and all the Wallaces as friends. I am sorry that I was not aware of Greg’s death; yet, he leaves a favorable legacy that will endure. My heartfelt condolences to the surviving Wallace family members and relations.
