Graveside service for Glennis Irene Reavis, age 78 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 PM at Lincoln Cemetery with burial beside her husband J. W. “Dub” Reavis. Mrs. Reavis passed away Tuesday morning in Donalson Care Center.
A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Hillard and Susie Mills Hirlston, retired machine operator and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two daughters Wanda Thompson and Donna Young both of Fayetteville, brother James W. Hirlston of Lavergne, TN, sister Susie Brewer of Huntland, TN, five grandchildren, Lisa Newgent, Robert Newgent, Tracy Allen, Kristy Mitchell, Cody Harmon eight great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Reavis was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Deona Newgent, brother Alvis L. Hirlston
Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 1 PM – 2:30 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

To my dear sweet cousins, Aunt Glennis will be missed by all of us who loved her. As A kid I always looked forward to seeing her and uncle Dub, I remember the last time I spent time with her was to bring Mother and Aunt Helen to visit her; and we all know how long ago that was.. I’m just so sorry that I couldn’t make it to Fayettville for visitation and service. I was with you all in heart, soul and spirit. I was thinking the other day about the time she took me to the ER because a fire cracker went off in my hand. Wanda you were married and Donna I don’t know if you remember it or not but Uncle Dub bought us the fire crackers after Aunt Glennis told us NO. we pestered him until he got them for us; Ya’ll lived on Hedgemont Ave. in the big white house. I know I am just rambling thid mptmom but I have so many memories of Aunt Glennis and it is hard to believe that she is gone and I only have one Aunt left on the Revis side. Can’t you just imagine what is going on in heaven with Moml, Dad. Aunt Helen, Uncle
Carl, granny and papa with aunt Glennis and uncle Dub. they are all rejoicimg anf waiting on us. Aunt Gleenis was always one of the best. Even though we don’t see each other often, I love you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Aunt Glennis.
