Glenis Benson Smith

Funeral service for Mr. Glenis Benson Smith a WWII veteran, age 92, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow next to his wife of 70 years, Billie LouElla Gray Smith, in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday until time of service.

Survivors include his sons, Tim (Kathy) Smith and Bret G. Smith all of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren, Eric Smith, Krista (Bobby) Griffin, Kimberly (Eddie) Mills, Matthew (April) Smith, Ben (Kim) Smith, and Keith Smith; great-grandchildren, Gregory Griffin, Caroline Mills, Gracie Mills, Mattie Smith, Maddox Parker, Ella Kate Mills, Donovan Gray Smith, Bentlee Smith and Delaney Mattison Smith; and brother, Wayne (Kathy) Smith of Fayetteville, TN. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Hubert and Lela Long Smith; sisters, Dean Askins and Lorene Askins; and granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Porter Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Glenis Smith.

Mr. Smith (Smitty) was a big part of Wholesale Trailer and we have missed his regular visits for the past couple of years and will continue to miss him and the community information he always had to share.

Sorry four loss.Good man. I will never forget him taking Bret and I to the dirt track races when we were kids. And always keeping me updated on what was happening.Enjoyed talking with him.
