Geraldine Hambrick Crawley

A funeral service for Geraldine Hambrick Crawley, age 88, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday prior to the service at Higgins Funeral Home.

Geraldine passed away on September 29, 2026, at Lynchburg Nursing Center. She was born on March 18, 1938, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Isom Elbert and Ruthy Lucille Honea Hambrick.

A talented and dedicated seamstress, Geraldine worked at Serbin and served as a supervisor at Jonathan Logan before becoming a partner in Gerrie’s Specialty Sewing. Following her retirement from the apparel industry, she continued serving her community with a welcoming smile at Carter’s Drug Store for several years.

Geraldine lived life with an infectious joy, always happy and determined to have a wonderful time no matter what she was doing. She truly never met a stranger. She loved people and took a genuine interest in everyone she met—knowing everyone’s family history, and if she didn’t know yours, she wouldn’t hesitate to ask until she found out. Above all, Geraldine loved her family dearly. She cherished simple pleasures like spending time at the lake, attending the Lincoln County Fair, and traveling, especially on local bank bus trips.

Survivors include her sisters, Judy Stafford and Carol Simms Young; her brother, Reece (Jeannie) Hambrick; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Pete” Crawley; her sisters, Hazel Simms and Faye Payne; and her brothers, Bill Hambrick and Thomas Edward Hambrick.
