Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia H. Luna, age 93, of Boonshill will be conducted at 2PM Sunday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas H Smith and Jim Luna officiating. Burial will follow in Wright’s Cemetery beside her husband Carlee Luna who died in 1991. Mrs. Luna passed away Friday morning in Lincoln Skill Care.
She was a native of Giles County, TN and the daughter of the late Walter Meade and Josephine Burch Harwell. Mrs. Luna was a retired merchant, homemaker and a member of the Boonshill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter Sara Jo (Ricky) Pierce of Fayetteville, son Sammy (Thelma) Luna of Boonshill, eight grandchildren Donna Pepper, David Luna, Jim Luna, Andrea Delap, Penny Bates all of Fayetteville, Amy Wakefield of Frankewing, Beth Jones of Nashville and Dale Pierce of Murfreesboro, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Luna was preceded in death by two sons John Alvis and Tommy Lee Luna and eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
