Geneva Myrick

On April 17th, Geneva Myrick was welcomed into Glory by her Lord Jesus. While in the presence of her Lord, she witnessed her son Stephen walk and talk for the very first time. What a reunion they must have had!

Geneva was born on September 2, 1929 to the late Jim and Grace Simmons of Paint Rock Valley, AL. She was the proud matriarch of her large, blended family for over 50 years. At 91 years old, her memory and cognition were the sharpest of anyone in her family. Her dry-witted wisdom and fierce love of family are memories they will forever cherish.

In addition to her parents, Geneva was pre-deceased by many other loved ones including husbands John Enochs, Harry Orr, and William Myrick, brothers Robert, Carl, and Jack Simmons, son Stephen Orr, granddaughter Laura Grace Beck, and son-in-law Scott Beck. Survivors include her children, Dawn Stopinski and husband, Craig of Decherd, TN; Susan Beck of Fayetteville; Dale Davis and husband Charles of Vanntown, TN; Harriette Rost of Athens, AL; David Myrick of Fayetteville, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday April 24th from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.  Following visitation, funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Don Russell. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Grace Fund c/o Fayetteville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 623 Fayetteville TN 37334. The Grace Fund is an independent fund used to help local individuals with travel expenses related to out-of-town medical care. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Geneva Simmons Orr Myrick.
