It is with regret that we announce the passing of Mrs. Geneva Ann Thornton, age 67, of Fayetteville, TN. Mrs. Thornton was a native of Lincoln County, TN and daughter of Dorene Thompson Rogers and the late Thomas Colbert. She enjoyed sewing, crafting and gardening but most of all, she loved her family. Mrs. Thornton passed away on July 20, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Thornton; daughters, Christie Rene (Douglas) Oyler of Huntsville, AL and Sonja (Prescott) Smith of Lynchburg, TN; grandchildren, Ashley (Logan) Carlisle, Shelby Smith, Amber Reid, and Shelton Smith; great-grandchildren, Landon Gage Carlisle and Lane Knox Carlisle; stepdaughter, Shari Dudley; and stepsons, Mike and David Thornton;
A private family service was held with burial in Kelso Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local chapter of the Multi-County Cancer Support Network, P. O. Box 633, Decherd, TN 37324. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Thornton.
