Gemella Quick Hopkins

Funeral service for Gemella Quick Hopkins, age 100 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Friday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery beside her husband William Hathie Hopkins. Mrs. Hopkins passed away Wednesday morning in Lincoln Regional Hospital.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Lawson and Maggie Pruitt Quick. Mrs. Hopkins was a farmer, a cook for Lincoln Elementary and various restaurants in Lincoln County. She was a member of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her children; Agnes Stafford of Hazel Green, AL, W. H. Hopkins of Winchester, TN, Rita (Herbert) Oeser of White House, TN, Juanita (Billy Wade) Stafford of Madison AL, Mildred Woods of Florence, AL, Mamie Hopkins of Flowery Branch, GA, William Alex (Nancy) Hopkins of Fayetteville, Howard (Linda) Hopkins of Lebanon, TN, Patsy (Sam) Shockley of Fayetteville, Donnie (Audra) Hopkins of Hazel Green, AL, Kay (Phillip) McDonald of Bozeman, MT, Faye Fisher of Fayetteville, and Ricky Hopkins of Fayetteville, 36 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 39 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

I will always remember her with love. Every Child she came in contact with loved her. Rest in peace dear lady.

Patsy,I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. years ago when were growing up ,She was so good to all of us children, She was a Wonderful Lady. If you ever need anything please give me a call.God Bless each of you during this difficult time.
