Garry Francis Howell

Funeral service for Mr. Garry Francis Howell, age 73, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 2 PM on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Jon Hathcock and Bishop Leonard Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery.

Garry was born on November 3, 1945 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Melvin “Chub” and Louise Tielking Howell. He served in the US Army and owned Howell Wood Specialties. Mr. Howell attended the Fayetteville First Baptist Church and enjoyed music, as a bass player. He mentored many people in A.A., during his 30 years of sobriety. Garry passed away on December 28, 2018 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Fisk Howell; daughter, Melvie (Andy) Myrick of Fayetteville; son, Mark (Amy) Howell of the Howell Community; grandchildren, Madison (Logan) Ogle, Will Myrick, Hannah Howell, and Evan Howell. In addition to his parents, Mr. Howell was preceded in death by a sister, LuAnn Raby.

Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until 2 PM on Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lincoln Co. Tribute Chair, Cary B. Sullivan, P.O. Box 470, Fayetteville, TN 37334 or American Lung Association, National Direct Response Headquarters, 1200 Hosford Street, Suite 101, Hudson, WI 54016-9316.

Such an amzing man.I didnt have the pleasure of knowing him but for around two years but he helped me tremendously. Always looked forward to seeing him and hearing what he had to say.
