Fredna Mae Russell Ellis

Funeral services for Fredna Mae Russell Ellis, age 77 of Fayetteville, will be conducted
Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Jones and Bro. James West officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery. Mrs. Ellis passed away Thursday morning after
an extended illness.

A native of Lincoln County, Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of the late George Walter and Mildred Evins Russell. She retired from the Lincoln County Finance Department and was a member of the Mimosa Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband Coach Jimmy Ellis of Fayetteville, three daughters Wyanne (Dwight) King, Melodie (Britt) Dye and Jamie (John) Cain all of Fayetteville, grandchildren Bonnie (Charles Caldwell) King, Kristin (Rob) Carter, Jim Dye, Kim Dye, Sara (Adam)McCormick, Bob Cain, Chris (Rebecca Franz) Cain, great-grandchildren Bruce Carter, Sophie Carter, Eliza McCormick, Nora McCormick and Hannah Caldwell. She was preceded in death by a brother George Russell.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Fayetteville City School System Girls Basketball or to the Fayetteville City Football and Baseball Programs.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday 4-7 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

Jamie, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Even though she has been sick for a long time, it is never easy to lose a parent. Please take care of yourself through this time.

I am sorry for the late response. I apologize for not getting to you sooner. I did not know about your Mother until I saw it in the Elk Valley Times or I would have been by the funeral home to pay my respects to your Mother in person. Your Mother was a special person to me who I respected greatly. I know she was a good Mother to all of you and a good wife to your Daddy. I did phone your Daddy after I saw the EVT and got to express myself to him. I pray your days will not be as difficult as mine have been since I lost my own. God has showered your lives with many blessings with having your own Mother and Daddy. Kathy
