Freddie Hovis

Graveside service for Mr. Freddie Hovis, age 65, of the Coldwater Community, will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Rose Hill with Rev. Daniel Meaker officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until 1 PM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Freddy was born on February 4, 1955 in Lincoln County, TN to Billy Cole and the late Opelene Mitchell Hovis. He worked for Amana and Daikin Manufacturing. Mr. Hovis loved farming and enjoyed working with his Red Heeler dogs. Freddy was of the Methodist Faith. He passed away on January 8, 2021.

Survivors include his father, Billy Hovis; son, Josh Hovis; brother, Johnny Hovis of Coldwater; sister, Judy Lynn (Charles) Smith of Athens, AL; nieces, Felicia (Jason) Newton, Tracie (Patrick) Towry; and great-nephew, Blake Motlow. Freddy was preceded in death by his mother, Opelene Mitchell Hovis.

I am so sorry to hear this! I spent a lot of time talking to Freddie he was a great person who loved his parents very much! Freddie you will be missed so much! My condolences to the family!

I talked with Freddie daily when he would visit his mother at the nursing home. He was a kind, sweet ,humble man and a good son. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Freddy was a friend and an inspiration to those who knew him especially those who worked with him at Goodman. He was a hard worker who believed in giving an honest days work for his pay.
He loved his family and friends.
He also loved life itself and made every minute count whether he was at work or play.
He will be missed by all.

Freddie was my lead at Goodman. He was always fair and honest. He had a good sense of humor and was easy to work for.
He talked about his family always with love and respect. I know he will be missed by many friends as well as family. So sorry for your loss.

Freddie was a sweet person.Jamie worked with him at Goodman.He would always talk to you,if he knew you.I worked at DCC,where his mom was.She was a sweet little lady & Freddie was just like his momma.He will be missed by all of his friends & family. You’re all in our thoughts and prayers.

To the entire Freddie Hovis Family…… So sorry to hear about the passing of Freddie. He was such a good man and friend to all of us who knew him. He will certainly be missed. May God Continue To Be With And Bless You All. As l know he will. You are all in my Thoughts and Prayers. I will always remember getting to spend a little time with Freddie and his Family whenever I would go to the Donalson Care Center and it was there that they would all be visiting and checking on Mrs. Hovis.
