“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
With grateful hearts for a life well lived in Christ, we celebrate the homegoing of Frances Lynn McMillin Towry, of Fayetteville, TN, who entered into the presence of her Savior on June 24, 2026, at the age of 88.
Lynn was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She loved the Lord with all her heart and faithfully served Him through worship, prayer, and Christian fellowship. As a cherished member of Prosperity ARP Church for nearly 49 years, she served as Historian, taught the Women’s Sabbath School Class and Young People’s Class, and led the Women’s Ministry Bible Study for many years.
Family was one of God’s greatest blessings in her life, and she poured her heart into loving her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. For 46 years, she and her beloved husband, Wayne, walked hand-in-hand, providing their family with a beautiful, lasting example of a devoted Christian marriage and selfless care. Her home was a place of welcome, comfort, and prayer, where family and friends were always received with warmth and grace.
Beyond her devotion to her family, Lynn found great joy in the beauty of God’s creation. She loved to travel, exploring new places with a sense of wonder, and she spent many peaceful hours tending to her flowers, nurturing them with the same quiet care she gave to everyone she loved.
Those who knew Lynn witnessed a life marked by Christian faithfulness, humility, and compassion. She sought to honor God not only in words but through her daily actions, reflecting the love of Christ to all around her. Her greatest desire was that her family would know and follow the Lord she loved so dearly.
Though her earthly journey has ended, we rejoice in the promise of Scripture: “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). We find comfort in knowing that she now rests in the presence of her Savior, free from pain and surrounded by eternal peace.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Denise) Towry, Alyson (Tassie Jenkins) Towry, Patrick (Tracie) Towry, and Ryan (TaLisa) Towry; grandchildren, Braden Towry, Carlyn Towry Cobern, Riley Towry Jenkins, Hayley Haddox, Shelby Haddox, Lauren Towry, Blake Motlow, Peyton Towry, and Ashton Towry; great-grandchildren, Beckett and Remi Cobern; nephew, David Elder and niece, Stacey Elder Lanker. Lynn was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Harry Wayne Towry; parents, Raymond B. and Fannie Belle McKnight McMillin; daughter and son-in-law, Randy and Shawn Towry Haddox; her sister, Maxine McMillin Turnbo; and step-mother Levoid McMillin.
A service celebrating her life and Christian testimony will be held at Prosperity ARP Church at 1 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with Rev. Jeremiah Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until time for the service at the church on Saturday.
While her family grieves her absence, they do not grieve without hope, for they trust in the promise of Jesus Christ: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).
May her legacy of faith, love, and devotion to Christ continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family would like to thank those who cared for their mother at Viva Senior Living at Lincoln Manor, Huntsville Hospital and HH Hospice Family Care, and especially Dr. Sarah Thelen.
Memorial donations may be made to Prosperity Cemetery Association, s/o Shannon Cornwell, 138 Red Hill Road, Taft, TN 38488.
Higgins Funeral Home is privileged to offer comfort, care, and support to the family of Frances Lynn Towry.
