Funeral services for Mrs. Fayola Simmons Nelson, age 70, of Elora will be conducted Saturday morning at 10 AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro Winifred Stayton officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Nelson passed away Wednesday at Baptist Hospital.
A daughter of the late Jim and Leona Simmons, she was a native of Lincoln County, a homemaker, and a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Everett O.C. Nelson, sons Clifford and Christopher Wayne Nelson both of Flintville, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and sisters Ruby Johnson of Orlinda, TN, Violet Mathias of Poplar Bluff, MO, Hilda May of Lowell, IN, Lilly Groves of Portland, TN, and June Sisk of Lincoln.
Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home.
