Emma Mae Arnold

Funeral service for Emma Mae Adcox Arnold, age 88, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 2 PM on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Unity Cemetery.

Mae was a native of the Howell Community in Lincoln County, TN and born to the late Thomas Edward and Annie Elizabeth Armstrong Adcox on July 26, 1931. She worked as a fabric clipper for Serbin and was a charter member of Highland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Arnold loved her church, enjoyed cooking, and was a wonderful caregiver for elderly friends and family over the years. Mae enjoyed visiting with people and had unconditional love for her family. Her greatest joy was doing for others. She passed away on December 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Goodrich Arnold; daughters, Paulette Arnold (C.G.) Thompson, Paula Arnold (David) Dollar, and Vickie Arnold (Phillip) Shelton all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Misty (Ricky) Stevenson, Jonathan Dollar, Jeremy Dollar, Brad (Jana) Shelton, and Chris (Chelsea) Shelton; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Diane Thompson, and siblings, Irene Adcox, J.B. Adcox, Dan Adcox, Edward Adcox, George Bede Adcox, Kathleen Shelton, Mildred Wiser, Elizabeth Vincent, and Charles Adcox.

Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until 2 PM on Friday at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Emma Mae Adcox Arnold.

Aunt Mae was a lovely person and excellant servant o God. she was a great daughter,sister mother,grandmother great-grandmother, and a very special Aunt to me. She is with the Lord now and all family that left before her. i will miss her just as if i am losing my Mom all over again. God grant Uncle Paul,her kids, and all that will miss her and that loved her so dearly
