Funeral service for Elwyn Faye Benson, age 85, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kelso Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until 12 PM on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Faye was born on October 28, 1939, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Rufus Aaron Moorehead and Sophie Elma Clayton Moorehead. She was of the Presbyterian Faith. Faye passed away on October 26, 2025, at Donalson Care Center.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Benson; son, Douglas Clayton Tankersley; and her six siblings, L.C. Moorehead, Elaine McAnally, Dorothy Corder, Virginia White, Mary Jo Hall, and Nell Sanders.
Faye is survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, who will cherish her memory.
