Edwina Louise Dollar

Edwina Louise Dollar, a fun-loving, independent spirit and devoted Nana, passed away peacefully at her residence in Winchester, Tennessee, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83.

Born on February 18, 1942, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, Edwina was the daughter of the late Glyn and Clara Scott Nichols. Edwina truly embraced life. She was known for being fun and outgoing, always finding a way to have a good time with her family and friends. Her active social life included dancing at the senior center, and she especially loved line dancing twice a week.

She was a remarkably hardworking and independent woman. She maintained a pristine yard, often mowing and trimming it herself twice a week, a testament to her dedication. Edwina was also famous for her routine trips to Arby’s for a favorite treat: a cherry turnover.

Above all, Edwina cherished her role as a Nana. She had a boundless capacity for adventure, exemplified by the time she went skydiving with her grandson at the age of 81! She instilled a spirit of joy and good times in her family. A woman of faith, she was a member of the Flintville Baptist Church and faithfully read her Bible daily.

Survivors include her son, Dale Bartlett; grandchildren, Shannon Cornwell, Murray (Amanda) Bartlett, Chanse (Catherine) Bartlett, and Eric (Holly) Bartlett; great-grandchildren, Kenya Buckner, Cason Bartlett, Easton Bartlett, Tucker Walter, Levi Walker, Ava Posey, Walt Bartlett, Jack Bartlett, and Anakin Cornwell; and her bonus sister and friend, Dean (Jimmy) Dunivan and her children, Perry, Danny, Benji, and Jodi. In addition to her parents, Edwina was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan “Junior” Dollar; son, Steven Murray Bartlett; sisters, Martha Anglea, and Gail Nichols Reed; and a brother, Virgil Nichols.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with Bro. Eddie Graves officiating. Burial will take place afterward at the Old Orchard Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Edwina was our neighbor and we loved her. She was a good friend, and neighbor. We could set and talk to her for hours. We would see her at the dances at Senior Citizens and working in her yard. James & Linda Davis

Dale,
You know I loved Edwina dearly and will truly miss her. We took turns visiting each other and had so much fun on our shopping excursions. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow. Always remember Edwina had a good life in spite of any hardship that may have befallen her. She always trusted in God to walk beside her and He did. I love you all.

Dale, there are so many ways I remember your mama. She was always a ray of sunshine for us growing up. I remember watching her put Mrs Louise Broadway’s hair in pincurls she was so gentle and patient, every bobbypin carefully placed. My biggest memory was a time Steve and I were up at the cemetery and I fell and cut my hand. Steve drug me back to your house. I remember my mom thought I needed stitches. Then Edwina said “Doris, that does not need stitches”. She went inside and came back with a piece of white cloth and wrapped my hand up. No doctors no stitches just Edwina’s patience. My cut healed not even a scar.
So many memories of our growing up.

I’m sorry I can’t be with you today. Seems like doctor appointments absorb all my time.

Just know I love all the memories of us growing up, loved your mother & Steve, and I love you little brother.

Cindy
