Dwight Jordon Eakes

Funeral service for Mr. Dwight Jordon Eakes, age 60, of Fayetteville, will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Young officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Mr. Eakes passed away April 13, 2017 at his residence. A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of Thelma Ruth Dennis Eakes and the late Columbus Lincoln Eakes. Mr. Eakes worked construction for many years, enjoyed building things and was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his daughters, Cari (Shane) Norman of Flintville, Heather Hill of Huntsville and Cori Jones of Flintville; grandchildren Ty Hill, Grae Hill, Collins Campbell, Neeley Norman, Audrey Norman, Zachary Jones, Thomas Jones, and Millie Jones; brothers, Leon (Gayle) Eakes, David Eakes all of Fayetteville, TN, Jeff (Kim) Eakes of Flat Creek, TN; sisters, Mary Jo (Bob) Clark of McBurg, TN, Jeraldine (late Charlie) Alford of Tullahoma, TN, Diane (Ricky) Sells, Tammy (Gary) Williams all of Fayetteville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers Larry Dale Eakes and Daniel Eakes; sisters Linda Faye Bailey and Barbara Ann Eakes; and nephew Adam Eakes.

Visitation with the family will be 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Dwight Jordon Eakes.

+Mrs Eakes I was so sorry to hear about Dwight. I knew he wasn’t well. You have had your share lately and you and your family will be in my prayers. I do not get out much but I will be thinking about you. I miss you and our times with our puppies. Love You Joyce

Hey Tammy and family I`m sorry for your loss. I rode the school bus to Flintville with most of the family . Great bunch of folks. My prayers go out to the family
