Dorothy Virginia Corder

Funeral service for Dorothy Virginia Corder, age 96, of Kelso, TN will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Kimery officiating.  Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery.

Dot was born on May 6, 1925 in Lincoln County, TN to the late William Shelby “WS” and Mary Ann Smith Williamson.  She worked as a machine press supervisor with Jonathan Logan and was a member of the Crossroads Church of Christ. Mrs. Corder was an avid bible reader, enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Dot passed away on November 22, 2021 at Donalson Care Center.

Survivors include her sister, Melba Jo Young of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Nancy Corder of Kelso; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Williamson of Fayetteville, and Evelyn Barnes of Nashville; special friends, David and Debbie Keith of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, William Jerry Corder; son, Wilson “Butch” Corder; and brother, David Williamson.

Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM until 12 PM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made Corders Crossroads Church of Christ, 345 Teal Hollow Road, Kelso, TN 37348 or the Fabulous Fifties Foundation, P.O. Box 934, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
