Dorothy “Dot” Harris Forrester

Mrs. Forrester, age 85, passed away on June 22, 2017 at her home in Fayetteville, TN. A native of Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Moody and Pearl Monks Harris.

While in high school, she formed “The Harmony Trio” and they sang at school and had a program on WEKR. She worked as a secretary for several businesses in Fayetteville and was the first employee hired at Amana Refrigeration as Executive Secretary for the plant manager. After retirement, she enjoyed embroidery and sharing it with her friends and family. She loved her flowers, helping friends and neighbors, and working in her church. Dot was a leader for the “Singles and Singles Again” organization and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She also loved to sing, dance, read, and adored her family.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Butler Campbell and Bob Forrester and a son, Jeff Campbell. She is survived by her sons Terry (Patsy) Campbell of Amelia, OH, Gary (Paula) Forrester of Ardmore, TN, and Mike (Sandy) Forrester of Taft, TN; sister, Fran (Jack) McEwing of Kentucky; grandchildren, Eric (Dani) Campbell of Murfreesboro, TN, Angela (Kenny) Campbell of Murfreesboro, TN, Brandon (Amy) Forrester of Ohio, Hilary (Scott) Brown of Ohio, Michelle (Jimmy) Edwards of Alabama, Brittany (Garet) Gordon of Bartlett, TN, and Janna (Zach) Means of Fayetteville, TN; great-grandchildren Evie Campbell, Damion Wilbourn, Renee and Bri Brown, Mason, Wyatt, and Scarlett Means and M.J. and Sydney Gullick; and special friends Fonville and Alicia Campbell Mitchell.

Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Funeral service for Mrs. Forrester will be conducted Sunday, June 25, 2017, at 2:30 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Billions officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church at 10 Wiley Hollow Road, Fayetteville, TN 37334 or Lincoln Medical Hospice at 1797 Wilson Parkway, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Miss Dot and I talked on the phone five days a week for about 10 years. We rarely met but I always loved those encounters as she had a way of making those around her feel important and special. I worked at WEKR and she worked at Amana. I gave her the news each morning for their newsletter. I am sorry for your loss.

We moved to Fayetteville , next door to Dot and family’ in early 60’s. Our families got really close. Dot was a sweet, nice,friendly, and perfect neighbor. I loved her dearly.Thoughts and prayers to the family. May GOD bless.

Family of Dot Forrester: Sorry for the loss of Dot. We loved her so much. She will be missed by everyone. She was always so sweet to send cards to Mom (Wilma Moore) when she was sick and always sent Brent and I a Christmas card. Wonderful christian lady. I met Mrs Dot several years ago. no greater friend have I ever had. she was the very best .l loved to just sit and talk with her. I am proud her suffering on earth is over cause now I know. She’s in glory with the angels singing. She will truly be missed.

what a wonderful sweet lady that will always be dear to my heart,from the first time we met at church she showed nothing more than love,joy,peace with her smile her words and love. Heaven is cherring with Dot and we are happy to have met her even for a short time. rest now mrs.Dot we love you and your home now.

Dot was a beautiful christian lady, always took time to talk when we met in a store. my thoughts and prayers are with the family. I was out of town and not able to be at visitation or funeral.
