Doris Ruth Egan Laney

Funeral service for Mrs. Doris Ruth Egan Laney, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Sunday, June 4, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Billions officiating. Burial will follow in Buntley Cemetery. Mrs. Laney passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Donalson Skill Care Center.

Mrs. Laney was a native of Scott County, VA, the daughter of the late Ulysses Grant and Armina Reedy Egan. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her son Keith Laney and wife Lisa of Fayetteville, TN, grandchildren Carmen Laney and fiance Julius Kelso, Ashley Clevenger and husband Jamie, Alysha Miles and husband Joseph all of Fayetteville, TN, Heath Dawson and wife Amber of Ardmore, TN, special family Larry Phelps and wife Angela, Travis Phelps all of Fayetteville, TN, Cory Phelps of Tullahoma, TN, sister Irene Sorah of Johnson City, TN and brother Jay Egan of Big Stone Gap, VA and 6 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glen Laney, brother Millard Egan and sister Birdie Tichnor.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

Keith, so very sorry for your loss. I know how much both your parents loved you. This is not the end, but only the beginning. Thank the Lord for eternal life.
