Doris Marie O’Neal

Funeral service for Mrs. Doris Marie O’Neal, age 86, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 3 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. James Strope officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until 3 PM on Thursday at Higgins.

Doris was born on September 15, 1934 in Lincoln Co., TN to the late Floyd and Decie May Thompson. She attended Howell Hill Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. O’Neal passed away on January 10, 2021 at her residence.

Survivors include her children, Diane (Gary) Brent of Nashville, Donna (Hank) Parker of LaVergne, Denise (Tim) Warren of Decherd, and John (Cynthia) Boles of Flintville; grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Mathis, Rob Mathis, Robert (Elizabeth) Fleming, Danitta Bradford-Moffett, Janna (Keith) Sloan, David Moffett, Daniel Jackson, and Bud (Brandi) Boles; 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, Brenda (Kenny) Jeans, and Dianna McBay; several cousins; and beloved pets, Buffy and Dottie. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” O’Neal; daughter, Mary Danitta O’Neal; sister, Mardell McBay; and nephew, Dennis McBay.

Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Highway, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Donna, I remember both your parents. I’m sorry. My mom passed away last year. It’s understandable- but still hard to let go.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Dot. I was very close to Mrs. Dot through her dgt. Denise and spent many evenings and wonderful meals at their home, Mr Bobby and Mrs Dot along with Denise. Diane and Donna …..I am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing …seems like yesterday when we were all little girls playing together. I have many good memories of Mrs. Dot. She had a great laugh and a beautiful smile. My prayers are with you, I am so sorry I didn’t hear in time to pay my respects.
