Dixon Estes Allen, Jr. Brooks, affectionately known as “D.J.,” passed away on July 7, 2025, in Deland, Florida. He was born on May 26, 1959, in Melrose, Massachusetts.
D.J. is lovingly remembered by his mother, Joy Brooks Parker; siblings, Robert Brooks, Dianne (Tony) Groce, David (Tracy) Brooks, Lynnda (Jon) Campbell, and Rebecca (Dwayne) Massey; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Scott Allen Brooks, and by his fathers, Dixon Allen and Mason Brooks.
One of the great joys of D.J.’s life was fishing, a pastime that brought him both peace and a deep connection to the natural world.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Rose Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.

DJ will be greatly missed! He had a way of always brightening your day and making you laugh big! My thoughts and prayers are with all of his loved ones.

D.J. was like a third son to me. We had a lot of fun together. I will miss him dearly.. He spent many nights at our home and was a great friend to our children..
