Diana Peterson

Diana Lynn Peterson, age 68, of Fayetteville passed away Monday, November 22, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.  Diana was born in Seattle, Washington to the late Jack R. and Elgie Mae Jones.

Diana was dearly loved by all who met her and a faithful servant of Jesus.  Diana was a member of and taught Sunday School at Fayetteville First Baptist Church for many years.  She was a certified grief counselor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Johnny Smith, and by grandson Henry Robert Peterson.

She is survived by: husband Allan Peterson, Brother, Darrell (Marcia) Widner, Sister in Law, Teresa Helton Widner.  Children: Kristie (Morgan) Sanders, Stacy (Chad) Hancock, Brian (Heather) Smith, and Robert (Megan) Peterson.  Grandchildren: Brandon (Erin), Spencer, Samuel, and Jackson Sanders; Caleb, Hannah, Kate, Benjamin, and Elijah Hancock; Lauren and Laya Smith, Avery and Jake Cochran.  Niece and Nephew Angela Widner Cantrell and Eric Widner. Plus a large number of beloved friends and special caregivers; Laura and Amanda.

The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday at the Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Don Pierson officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, near her earthly home.
