Dessel Taylor Wright

Mr. Dessel Taylor Wright, age 92, died Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Southern Manor Assisted Living in Fayetteville, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be Sunday, September 15, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at the Martin Church of Christ with Bro. Ricky Phillips officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Cates Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday beginning at 1:00 P.M. until service time.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his wife, Relma Jones Wright; his sons, Stephen Taylor Wright and Bradley Jones Wright; parents, Hubert Wright and Cassie Harrison Wright; one sister, Dorothy Shelley; two brothers, Darrel Wright and Dale Wright.

Mr. Wright owned and operated Dessel T. Wright Company (Tom’s Toasted Peanuts) before his retirement.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Martin Church of Christ.

He is survived by his daughter, Pam (Barry) Buckley of Fayetteville, TN; brother, Jimmy (Nellie) Wright of Martin; six grandchildren, Zachary Buckley, Eli (Jessica) Buckley, Luke (Caroline) Buckley, Taylor (Nick) Moore, Brianne (Deaton) Blackwell and Brett Wright; eight great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws, Karen Wright of Martin and Lisa Wright of Chattanooga.

When you look the word “Gentleman” in the dictionary, you would find his name beside it. Such a wonderful man. He will be missed.

Mr Dessel was the sweetest and most wonderful man ever. He will be missed dearly and he had so much love in his heart. Words cannot describe how great of a man he was and a joy to be around and take care of. You will always be remembered in my heart forever love you always!

And, may the precious memories you have give you strength to endure during the days ahead. He will surely be missed but not forgotten.

Pam and Family I am so sorry for your loss. No matter how old our parents are it is so hard to loose them. Your family will be in my Prayers. Mr. Wright sounds like he was such a Gentleman and that is a good way to be remembered. Joyce Johnson
