It is with regret we announce the passing of Mr. Dennis Ray Moore, age 62, of Fayetteville, TN. Private services will be held with burial at Wright’s Cemetery.
Dennis was born on September 15, 1958 in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Ray and Peggy Scruggs Moore. He was a 1976 graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and earned his masters degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Alabama. Mr. Moore worked as Chief Engineer on the Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB) and retired from NASA. Dennis enjoyed fishing, flying drones, was a published gun smith, and was of the Methodist Faith. He passed away on February 22, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Darlene Echols Moore; daughter, Roxie (Adam) Smith of Fayetteville; son, Scott (Scarlet) Worley of Athens, AL; and grandchildren, Carter and Eleanor Smith, Emily, Bryan, Brendan and Hillary Worley, and Holland, Jackson and Austin Brooks. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother, Joel Anthony Moore.
