David Wayne Putman

Funeral services for Mr. David Wayne Putman, age 72, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. John Hathcock officiating. Burial to follow in Blanche Cemetery. Mr. Putman passed away on June 25, 2017 at Lincoln Care Center.

David, a native of Fayetteville, TN, was the son of the late Annie Marie and Ben Whitt Putman, Sr. He worked as a car salesman for Howard Bentley and served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth “Betsy” (Jerry) Towry; sisters-in-law Linda, Vicki, and Wilma Putman; nephews Steve (Gayle) Vannatta and Rod Putman; nieces Vicki Michael, Patricia (Kendell) Hollingsworth, Elizabeth (Rossie) Williams, and Julie (Kevin) Higgins; great-nieces Ileah and Linda McKee and Morgan Higgins; great-nephews Connor and Colby Vannatta and Sloan Higgins; and special cousin Coral Petty. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Ben Putman, Jr. and Mickey Putman.

Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 4-7 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church Building Fund at PO Box 623, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

our heart goes out to the family, David was a great man. I bought my first car from him. I have fond memories of him when he sold bar-b-q. R.I.P. dear David. heaven has truly gained another angel!

we became co workers and friends many years ago.you were always a stand up guy you treated every body the same with a big smile on your face.I wish more people were like you.I and everybody that knew you will surely miss you.

R I P Dear David. Had some good times with David back in the 70s, especially at the horse shows. He was always so sweet, gentle and genuinely good man. Will miss that great smile and tell Ben hello for me.
