Cynthia Ann Whorley, a sweet and loving soul, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at St. Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by her family. Cindy, as she was affectionately known, was born on August 11, 1954, in Lincoln County, TN, to JoAnn O’Neal Whorley and the late Clyde Darwin Whorley.
Cindy was a woman of faith, with a heart that radiated love and kindness. She was devoted to her Lord and took great joy in saying her prayers daily. She loved her family dearly and was always a source of positivity and encouragement. Whether swimming, enjoying the outdoors, or simply sharing a smile, Cindy had a remarkable way of lifting the spirits of those around her. She fought with strength and grace through life’s challenges and will be remembered for her unwavering determination and joyful spirit.
A funeral service to honor Cindy’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Donnie Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, prior to the service, at Higgins Funeral Home.
Cindy leaves behind her loving mother, JoAnn O’Neal Whorley; her beloved nephews, Austin (Josey) Whorley and Jordan (Shelby) Whorley; her cherished niece, Nikia (Dusty) McCormick; great-nieces and nephews, Rhyatt Whorley, Leon Van Whorley, Kynlee McCormick, and Luke McCormick; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Darwin Whorley, and her brothers, Clyde Van Whorley and Steven Earl Whorley. She was also reunited with her maternal grandparents, Cabe and Iva Lou O’Neal, and paternal grandparents, Grady Earl and Kathleen Davis Whorley.
In remembrance of Cindy’s life, may we continue to carry her legacy of love, faith, and kindness in our hearts.

Cindy was a true sweetheart to so many. She always had that beautiful smile and her loving heart for everyone she met. . Prayers for her loving mom and her family. I worked with Van for many, many years. Such a precious family

So very sorry to hear of Cindy’s passing. Blessed to have known her for many years. She always greeted me with a beautiful smile and was truly excited to see me.
