Colyar Simmons

Funeral services for Colyar George Simmons, age 83 of Taft, will be conducted Sunday
afternoon at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Paul Williams and Bro. Ed O’Neal
officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Cemetery. Mr. Simmons passed away Friday
morning at his residence.

A native of Lincoln County, Mr. Simmons was the son of the late Homer and Essie Towry
Simmons. He was a farmer, former employee of Genesco and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Magaline Towry Simmons of Taft, sister Annette Simmons Cooper of Huntsville and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by sister Juanita Gray and two brothers John and
Marvin Simmons.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
