Clifford Brown Yount

Funeral service for Mr. (Kippy) Clifford Brown Yount age 71 of Mulberry, will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. David Arrington officiating. Burial will follow in Mulberry Cemetery. Mr. Yount passed away Friday evening at Lincoln Medical Center.

A native of Sharkey County, MS, he was the son of the late Joseph Donald and Mary Brown Yount. Mr. Yount was the owner and operator of Lakeside Telephone Company, a veteran of the US Army as a MP Canine handler, and a member of the Mulberry United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn Jackson Yount of Mulberry, daughter Teresa Johnson and husband Ed of Mulberry, Melinda Richards and husband Tim of Yazoo City, MS, grandchildren Joseph Clifford Johnson, Jacob Edward Johnson and wife Derica, Lauren Lee Richards, and Lucas Kane Richards, great grandchild Brantley Wade Johnson, brother Dennis Yount of Whitehouse, TX, sister Alma Doyle of North Little Rock, AR, and Mary Elizabeth Richardson of Glen Alan, MS.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 10 a.m. till time of service at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flower memorials can be made to Gideons International or the Mulberry United Methodist Church.

Thinking of you all today. Reflecting on all the wonderful memories of Kippy. He was a role model and inspiration to many. A proud man who was without a doubt proud of all of you! Our hearts, love, and prayers are with you all.

Carolyn, we were so sorry to hear about Kippy. We are in shock, as we are sure you are too. We never saw Kippy without a smile on his face. Our hearts go out to you, the girls and all the grandchildren. God Bless each of you in dealing with this terrible loss!
