Claude Thomas Holt

Funeral service for Mr. Claude Thomas Holt, age 90, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 2 PM on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Jon Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 12:00 PM until time of service at Higgins Funeral Home.

Claude was born on July 11, 1930 in Mulberry, TN to the late Thomas Henry and Jimmie Mitchell Holt. Mr. Holt owned and operated Holt’s Auto Salvage and Used Cars until his death. Claude loved fishing, hunting, playing cards, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Claude passed away on January 8, 2021 at Lincoln Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Fite Holt; daughters, Amelia Holt-Sysenkham, Barbara Jean Bly, and Kathy Griffin; grandchildren, Nathan Lance, Claudia Abigail, Thomas, Patricia, Brittany, Sharon, and Christopher; 1 great-granddaughter; and 2 great-great-granddaughters. In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his siblings, Margie Blankenship, J.C. Holt, Bertha Darnell, and Bobby Holt.

Claude and Betty lived across the highway from us growing up and are still neighbors. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I knew he had been ill but I would still see him outside doing things when I visited my mother. Prayers for the family from your Honey neighbors. May God hold you up in days to come.
