Funeral service for Chris (Buck) Welch, age 62, of Petersburg, TN, will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bob Dunnivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Chris was born on December 14, 1961, in Lincoln County, Tennessee. He worked for Inner City until they closed and currently worked for Marelli in Shelbyville. Buck loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren, and Tiny, his Chihuahua. Chris passed away on April 28, 2024, at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg, TN.
Survivors include his mother, Janie Dunnivan; step-mother, Martha Welch; children, Nathan (Christi) Welch, Jason (Amanda) Welch, and Ashley (Chris) Dodson all of Petersburg; grandchildren, Francessica Minor, Jose Minor, Breann Minor, Alexis Welch, Kallissa Welch, Mason Welch, Lilah Welch, and Landree Welch; great-grandchildren, Jayce Locker, Caroline King, and Navy Minor; brothers, Mark (Becky) Welch, and Greg Welch both of Petersburg; sister, Wendy (Randy) Crutcher of Petersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Welch.
Pallbearers include Jose Minor, Mason Welch, Luke Welch, Danny Dunnivan, Thomas Lindsey, Hunter Sharp, and Landree Welch.
