Funeral services for Mr.Charles E. “Gene” Yell, age 74 of Petersburg, will be conducted Thursday at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Yell Family Farm. Mr. Yell passed away Tuesday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.
A son of the late Elmer R. and Myrtle Earls Yell, he was a native of Huntsville Park in Madison County AL, a life long member of I.B.E.W. local 558, and a retired electrician. He was a gentleman farmer and an Elder of the Petersburg Presbyterian Cumberland Church.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Roberson Yell, daughter Tina Yell Moore, son Rick Yell, and grandchildren Jessica Cocita, Shelby, Laura, and Nathan Yell.
Visitation with the family will be 12 –1 PM Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home.
