Isaiah 57:1
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart:
and merciful men are taken away, none considering
that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

I’m thankful to have been a friend of such a kind and
Merciful man as Brother Ralph

As I have gotten older and seen more of this world, I now realize how blessed I was to live a childhood where I never knew hunger. I always had clothes and more than enough of the non-necessities of life so that i was neither conceited nor jealous. I never experienced a time when I did not have both of my parents in the same household and in a loving and caring relationship. I never wondered whether we were going to church on Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night, it was just part of our week. We were far from rich by worldly standards, but i was blessed beyond measure to be raised in a Christian home. Thanks mom and dad.

Memory is one gift from God that death cannot destroy. The memories and the assurance that we will meet Ralph again in Heaven for eternity will help us get through our grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Estelle, and your family.

When you are a youngster, you don’t realize who is going to have an influential effect in your adult life.
Way back when, I had a ’75 Chevy. Every spring when the weather turned warm the A/C would quit. Every spring I took it to Mr. Lacy. Every spring he told me “air conditioning is expensive to repair”. Every spring he fixed it. Every spring he charged me fifty cents.
His actions and beliefs taught me a lot. This is one of the minor reasons he is now enjoying life with our Father.

How do you say good-by to such a great friend? About 57 years ago Faye and I became acquainted with this family through Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Lincoln Park, Mi. Randy Masko (above) hit the nail on the head. This is just the type of man he was. We have spent much time worshiping, traveling, camping and visiting together with him and Estelle. I used to trade cars more frequently than necessary and each time I had one for sale he was ready to find a buyer for me–and he did several times. While time sharing in Florida in 2005, he called and wanted me to buy a park model in LeLynn Resort where he and Estelle camped each year. He already had me one picked out. When I lost that bid, he found me another the same day; and bingo. A couple of years later, and just as a matter of conversation, Faye mentioned to him that she was thinking about looking for a golf cart. About one half hour later he called her and said, “I have found you a golf cart”–and bingo once again. This is not the place for it, but I could write a book about our good times together. But until we meet again, farewell to a great man. Psalm 116:15–Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

James and I are truly thankful that we got to know both of you through Ed and Faye in Fla. It meant a lot to us for you to come visit us when we were visiting Ed and Faye. James always enjoyed visiting with Ralph and Ed, while You, Faye and I had our little chats. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
