Charles Douglas Crews

It is with regret we announce the passing of Charles Douglas Crews, age 68, of Flintville, TN. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, May 8 at Higgins.

Doug was born April 28, 1954, in Huntsville, AL to the late Grady Franklin and Helen Elizabeth Harris Crews. He enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing, and working in his yard. Doug loved his loyal companion, Abby, whom he lost just a month ago. He also cherished being Pawpaw to his grandchildren and spending time with them. Doug passed away May 5, 2022, at Lincoln Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Crews; children, Jennifer (Roger) Penn, Elizabeth (Chris) Brooks, Joseph Barrett, Derrick Mitchell; grandchildren, Alicia Barrett (fiancé Brian), Jacob Barrett, Alison (Christopher) Nix, Will Penn, Emma Mitchell, Libby Mitchell, and Jesse Barrett; great-grandchildren, Lily, Max, Scarlett, Cora, and Ellie; brothers, Jimmy (Bertie) Crews, and Alan (Robbie) Crews. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his grandson, Charles Ray Barrett; and brother, Ronnie Crews.

Memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

so sorry to hear about Doug. I do remember him from school. I know that he will be missed by many. Prayers for all.

I am so sorry to hear this. There have been far to many of( The Taft School Kids) to pass, He was always such a sweet heart, I wished him Happy Birthday just a few days ago…….
