Funeral Services for Mr. Charles Dodson, age 80 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 PM in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Stewart. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Dodson passed away Saturday at Huntsville Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth Warden and Hawley Dodson and two brothers Kenneth Dodson and James Dodson. He is survived by his two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Byers of Yazoo City, MS and Ruth D. Hines of Huntsville, seven nieces, one nephew and several great nieces and nephews. He was a life long resident of Fayetteville, TN. After serving in the US Army during WW II, he became a partner with this father in the Hawley Dodson and Son Well Drilling Company in 1945. He was very well respected in TN and North AL for his knowledge and skill in the location of water. Most of the City of Huntsville and Madison County wells were drilled by Mr. Dodson. He will be missed by many not only for his expertise in well drilling but also his friendship. Visitation with the family will be Monday afternoon from 1 PM until time of service at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
