Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Dean Pigg Mearse will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Atchley officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Mearse passed away Friday morning.
A daughter of the late William Oliver “Bill” and Maybell Vaughn Pigg, she was a native of Madison County, AL, formerly employed as a ST. Paul Head Start teacher for 31 years, and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include her husband Luther M. (Luke) Mearse, daughters Glenda Honey and Theressa Cheeves and husband Dwayne all of Fayetteville, grandchildren Robbie Honey and wife Lacey of McBurg, Brittany Rogers of Flintville, and Lucas Garrett of Fayetteville, and great-grandchildren Lane and Kylie Honey both of McBurg. She was preceded in death by a son Thomas Oliver Rogers and a step-son Scotty Mearse.
Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Saturday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
