Carman H. Gibson, age 80,of Fayetteville passed away at his home Friday March 1, 2013. He was the son of Cary Hilmon and Martha Coleman Gibson of Ramer, TN. Survivors include his wife Frances Monks Gibson of Fayetteville, daughters Cindy Langford (Billy) of Flintville, Lisa McConihay of Decatur, GA, son Chris Gibson (Amy) of Fayetteville, six grandchildren Zachary and Jordan Langford, Luke McConihay, Ben, Jake and Abe Gibson, brother Dr. William Coleman Gibson (Marilyn) of Rainsville, AL, sisters Edith Parr of Little Rock, AR and Helen Caruso of Fyffe, AL.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Billy Langford officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening 5-8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church or The Church Flower Fund.

Halley, Solomon, and I offer our deepest condolences for the loss of Mr. Carman. We will be diligently praying for you all over the coming days. If there is anything you all need, Bro. While I would never presume to have the appropriate words of comfort for you all, I know that God’s Word says our God is a God of all comfort, and we now have a blessed Hope in our savior, Christ Jesus; the hope of the resurrection (Titus 2:11-14; 1st Cor. 15; 2nd Cor. 1:3-7). We would like to offer our sincere sympathy for the loss of your husband/father. I feel that Carman raced into Heaven with Peace, Love and Pride knowing he had run his best race. Heaven gained a wonderful angel. Thank God for cherished memories and the knowledge that he was totally surrounded by love.

This morning Barbara and I were talking about how much fun we had in the summer of 1955. Yours and Carmen’s name came up as wonderful friends and I wondered what you both were doing. Karen heard the conversation and looked on the computer and found this disappointing information that Carmen had passed away just a few months ago.
