I have known Charlie for many years but then I got to know him real well after he introduced me to my wife, his secretary Linda Graviett !!! Charlie, I will be forever grateful for that. So for the last 4 years I got to know the real Charlie. I saw Charlie for a few minutes almost every workday..We would discuss politics, religious views, and other things. Charlie was so knowledgeable about the Lords Word. He lived out what he preached..He was one of the kindest men I have ever known.Linda and I loved you and will miss you Charlie!!!! See you on the other side my friend.

When we were kids and in school we spent a lot of time together. We really were like brothers. We learned a lot about (and from) each other. We had a lot of significant experiences. We even got into trouble together. Can you believe that? I was the best man when Judy and Charles got married. (You would have thought that they could have found a better one, you reckon.) When he and Judy lived in Kingston and our two boys and their two were about the same age we spent a lot of time boating and skiing together. We have not had much contact in later years due to the miles and different paths we followed. I had put in my Letter of Instructions to ask Charlie to preach my funeral. That can’t happen now. Who in the world can I find to replace Charlie? Really. I am so glad that Charlie has had Judy to love and share with him for so many years. How wonderful! May God bless your soul and help Judy, Donna, and Aunt Arvelene to handle this loss.

Your “first” Cousin

My heart is broken for this family! Bro Charlie loved to pick on me, whenever he saw me, he’d call out, “I’d rather be dead than red on the head”!! I’m going to miss that, he was my long time buddy, and could make me laugh every time that i saw him! Heaven has gained another good one, because he truly loved his Lord, and lived for Him! God bless his sweet wife Judy, and boys Keith, Kevin and daughter Cortney, and his sweet mama, Ms. Arvalene.

When I first moved to Fayetteville we had a problem that Mr Charlie came to fix. He never left us from that point. He loved my mother and me which showed every time he came into our house. I asked him to preach my mother’s funeral but he had another commitment. When we were headed to the chapel for her burial there stood Charlie snd Judy. As you know that was just him also spreading hisself thin and also fit you in somehow. I want to remember him the way I last. saw him. We ran into each other at Marvins getting supplies for our projects. We stood there talking a long time. I asked how is retirement. …… he said I love it. But I knew in my heart that he was not retired, he was just spreading his love to more places. Now I know exactly where Mr Charlie is and I know he is still watching over everyone saying follow me because he loves where he is and his work is not done. I thank God for Mr Charlie being in my life.
