Brenda Joyce Hicklen Laten

Funeral service for Brenda Joyce Hicklen Laten, age 78, of Rainbow City, AL, formerly of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12pm to 2pm on Wednesday at Higgins.

Brenda was born October 8, 1945, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Clifton and Lucille Whitt Hicklen. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and retired from Chrysler were she worked in electronics. Brenda loved her family with true unconditional love. She put everyone before herself and her own needs, and her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Most of all Brenda loved the Lord. She passed away January 28, 2024, at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL, surrounded by her family that she loved so dearly.

 Survivors include her son, Kevin Dwayne Laten and wife Suzanne of Boaz, AL; daughter, Marla Laten Lamont of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Heather Laten Boyle and husband Jesse, Brandon Laten, McKenzie Lamont, Gage Lamont; great-granddaughter, Willow Boyle; and sister, Doris McAlister. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Marlon Dwayne Laten, and siblings, Wanda Thompson, Bill Hicklen, Barbara Dunn, and Betty Wright.
