Graveside funeral service for Mrs. Bonnie Laura Minor McFerrin of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Blanche Cemetery with Elder Joe Parks and Bro. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will be beside her husband, Mike McFerrin. Visitation with the family will be held at 11 AM until 1 PM on Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home.
Bonnie was born on December 26 in Madison County, AL to the late Sam and Annie Steadman Minor. She worked as a daycare teacher at Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church and was a member of West End Baptist Church. She loved to travel the world. She also enjoyed to play bingo at the Lincoln County Senior Center and crochet with groups at church. Mrs. McFerrin passed away on March 4, 2019 at Covenant Manor.
Survivors include her daughters, Bridget McFerrin (late Russell) Parks of Fayetteville, TN and Renee McFerrin (Manny) Lopez of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Williams Cavanah of Petersburg, TN and Michael Williams of Cookeville, TN; and great-grandchildren, Kara Minor, Will Minor, Jessa Cavanah and Emma Williams. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Malcolm Minor, James Minor, WC “Dub” Minor, Coleman Minor, Nellie Hall, and Bernice Moorehead.

Bridget and Renee,
I worked with your Dad at Fayetteville Electric System for many years before he retired. And I knew your Mom and her brothers. I also remember you both when you were youngsters. Your parents were special, wonderful people. My sympathy to you both in your loss.

Ms. Bonnie has always been one of my favorite people in Lincoln County. I am so sad to hear of her passing. That precious lady always made me smile. I know Bonnie will be missed, but her life and her wittiness and humor will always be a wonderful memory of that dear lady. Praying for you.

BONNIE WAS A HOOT!!! She lived her life as we all should, with vigor & passion. In her travels with the First National Bank she & my Mom (Cat Douthit) no doubt could have had a stand-up comedy act. What one couldn’t think of, the other could. This proved to be a strong friendship thru the years. Poor Bonnie McCown & Kellie Smith tried their best to keep up with them on trips & bring them back safely, no easy feat! Mu thoughts are with you Bridget, Renee & family as you say “see ya later Mom, thanks for everything”. How blessed you are to have had such a dynamic Mom with so many friends, myself included. Bonnie was indeed a unique individual and I loved her dearly. If she wasn’t kidding with someone or picking on someone, she wasn’t happy. I can see that wicked grin on her face right now. You were one in a million my friend.

Well Bonnie B as I called her was one of a kind. She took me in at the young age of 18. I was right out of school and working for Dr. Hatcher. Lots of days I didn’t have a way home and I stayed with Bonnie and Mike. She and I loved each other very much all down thru the years. It’s hard to realize she won’t be around here. We will miss her so very much. If I can help yall in anyway, please don’t hesitate to call. I will see u on Thursday. Love Yall maryT

Bonnie was one of a kind! Loved working with her at First Presbyterian Child Care. I think of her often and the hugs she so freely gave to not only the children, but also their parents. Never a dull moment when “Miss” Bonnie was around. Thinking of you during this time—she was so proud of her girls.

Bonnie was a hot mess. I loved her and all the fun things she would do or say. When Ronald and I were planning to get married, she told everybody that he was her son. I will always remember her. She and my mother-in-law were friends. It’s hard to lose a Mother and I’m so sorry for the entire family. Memories are made to live on after someone passes. Blessed be!

I am so sorry to learn of Ms Bonnie’s passing. As others have said, she was truly one of a kind. It was impossible to be in a bad mood with her around. She loved to smile and laugh and just have fun. I waited with somewhat nervous anticipation of what she would say! All in good fun, of course! Rest in Heaven Ms Bonnie! The sun will shine a bit brighter with you up there!
