Bobby Ray was born on October 4, 1954 in Princeton, AL to the late Robert Clifton and Gertrude Rouse Vandiver. Mr. Vandiver was a loyal and dedicated employee of APAC for over 30 years. He always joked every time he saw a corvette, that he needed a “work vette” to drive back and forth to work. Most of all he loved and cherished family time. He could often be found on date night at Montana drive-in with his wife, Betty, spending time with his son, Shannon, playing with his grandchildren, or visiting his sisters. Mr. Vandiver was a member of the Elora First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Betty Ann Edwards Vandiver; son, Robert Shannon (Brittany Nicole) Vandiver of Elora; grandchildren, Morgan, Leia, Bryce, Vipe, Thomas, and Travis Vandiver; sisters, Sarah (Terrell) Shelton of Fayetteville, Barbara (Edward) Echols of Elora, and Mary Owens of Elora; sister-in-laws, Catherine, Ruth, and Marie Vandiver; nieces and nephews, Gary, Ricky, Dianne, Tina, Judy, Jeff, Anthony, Patrick, Danny, and Dale Vandiver, Bobby, Tim, and Sandy Shelton, Michelle Fowler, and Keri Franklin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vandiver was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Ann Vandiver Conner; brothers, Robert, Harold, and David Vandiver; and nephew, Randy Vandiver.

Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until 1 PM on Tuesday at Elora First Baptist Church.
