Birdie Lee Johnson

A funeral service for Birdie Lee Johnson, age 79, of the Molino Community, will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Vann and Rev. Ann Hatcher officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday at Higgins. Private family interment will take place at Lebanon Cemetery at a later date.

Birdie was born on June 28, 1943, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Albert Sisk and Josephine Abbott Sisk. She was a 1961 graduate of Central High School and a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson worked 42 years for the Bank of Lincoln County and served on the Lebanon Cemetery board for more than 30 years. Birdie had excellent gardening skills and above all loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. She passed away on April 9, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Survivors include her daughter, Missy (Chris) Neely; granddaughters, Lauren Neely (Jeremy) Pigg, and Lindsey Neely; great-grandchildren, Neely Pigg, Ella Pigg, Aleah Neely and Aiden Neely; brother-in-law, AC Flynt; and many special friends. In addition to her parents, Birdie was preceded in death by her husband, James “Buzz” Johnson; great-grandson, Gunner Matthew Ray Schrimsher; and a sister, Linda Sisk Flynt.

Memorials may be made to Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, 200 Elk Avenue North, Fayetteville, Tennessee 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Birdie Lee Johnson.

Mrs. Birdie was one of my favorites. I know she was so proud of all of you and loved you tons. She was always such a joy. Love and prayers to you all!

Birdie was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. She was always so friendly at the bank and any time you saw her. She loved her church and her family and her friends.
