Billie Joan “Joanie” Honea was the daughter of the late Billy Hugh Whitfield and Clarice Moyers Halcomb Whitfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Honea; brother. Larry Halcomb; sister, Brenda Whitfield Hixson, paternal grandparents, Louis Ray Whitfield and Bessie May Brooks Whitfield Norman; maternal grandparents, David L. Moyers and Mary Anderson Moyers.

Joanie is survived by her son, Kevin (Tanya) Honea; granddaughters, Stacie W. Honea and Anna G. Honea all of whom were the lights of her life; sisters-in-law, Margaret Halcomb, Nancy Hopson and Beverly Gullatt; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; special friend, Carol Dobbs; and many Facebook friends who allowed her the social life she enjoyed so much while being home-bound.

She was an excellent organist who loved to play at home for her family and at church for the glory of our Lord. She enjoyed bowling and was very good at this sport in earlier years. She loved her Lord, family, friends and all animals. Joanie could always find hope and humor in all situations and was a compassionate and caring person.

God speed… until we meet again.
